Here are pictures of the set I made (this one actually for myself) July 6, 2008. Purple is a very "in" color this season and I have a dark purple outfit, along with another lighter lavender pair of slacks that will match. I used smooth, buffed amethyst nuggets that were faceted on each end but flat thru the center in the first strand. The second strand is rather small, with small opalite top-drilled buttons and silver links with small amethyst stones in the center. Finally, the last strand has beautiful dyed agate tubes. From that I used a 2 to 1 yoke from which my pendant dangles. I thought this yoke gave the pendant the necessary volume so it would blend nicely with the entire piece, rather than just hanging from a tiny ring. The pendant itself is a dyed agate rectangle, with a small glass pedestal on top and a Swarovski crystal on the bottom.
Of course, those Swarovski crystals show up again in my chandelier earrings. These use silver swirls that create double ovals. From the center of the first hangs one single dangle with 2 crystals. However, in order to balance the size of the necklace and the size of the oval of the chandelier, I used 3 crystals in the rest of the dangles.
I wore this to work and received several positive comments, about the design, and of course the color. And I have a nice new piece to work into my wardrobe.
